RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT

BOOTS

Boots may be the most important purchase you can make while learning how to ride. They provide safety and comfort. Boots must have a minimum 1/2-inch heel, and I recommend you stick to boots made with high-quality leather so they last as long as possible.

HELMETS

If buying your helmet online, I'd advise making sure that there is free shipping and free returns, that way you can be picky about the fit of your helmet.
Here is one of many guides for how to fit a riding helmets.
If buying in person, here are some local stores that might have helmets for you to try: CAL Ranch, Shopper's Supply, Scottsdale Saddlery, Boot Barn.

SPURS & SPUR STRAPS

Many of my students will want "women's" sized spurs, but some of you may require youth spurs or men spurs. Feel free to ask about your size before buying as I do have some spurs for you to try on to get an idea of what size you'll need. Any adult sized spur strap should work, even if you require youth spurs.
